Three Cent Silver 1856 PCGS 64 Sprinkles of russet blend with medium gray on the obverse, while light gray reverse toning is touched with additional olive and russet. Fairly well struck, with die clashing evident on the reverse. However, some the intricate detail of the star lacks full definition and the tiny stars surrounding the reverse rim do not exhibit point separation. Surfaces are smooth and attractive. This example represents the Type II obverse, characterized by three lines bordering the star, as struck only from 1854 to 1858. PCGS has certified 67 coins at this level with 22 finer.1106A114
